We often conceptualize consciousness as a static state—a possession of the mind. In my practice, I have come to perceive consciousness as an active performance, catalyzed by motion. As I navigate the rising topographies of the Canadian landscapes, there is a distinct threshold where the boundary between the 'self' and the 'environment' dissolves. This is the 'In-Between' space—the liminal zone where my paintings originate.

Cognitive Landscapes: The Physics of Awareness Informed by the upcoming Artemis II mission and the representation of the Canadian vantage in space, my current inquiries explore the intersection of matter and mind. By layering archival pigments and interference oils, I create surfaces that respond to light—much as our awareness responds to the unknown.

The Artist as the Lens I treat the canvas as a laboratory for the invisible. My goal is to document:

  • The collision of neural rhythm and deep-time memory.

  • The transformation of the familiar into the "alien"—the corn fields as a planetary fragment.

  • The bridge between the structured world we build and the infinite cosmos we inhabit.

Why This Matters Now

In a world increasingly dominated by the digital and the artificial, the celebration of human consciousness—the unique, uncopyable spark of individual perception—is more vital than ever. My goal is to create "treasures" that act as anchors for this awareness, reminding the collector that they are not just looking at a painting, but participating in a cosmic dialogue.
